The Center for Futurism in Education (CFE) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) in Israel was founded twelve years ago in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

CFE's long-term goal is to contribute to the design of desired educational futures, by way of critically structuring the theoretical discourse as well as the practice of educational change processes, and in particular those that are driven by incorporation of ICT.

CFE engages in R and D on the national and European level, basic research, conceptual and philosophical research, evaluation of processes, support to policy makers, and leading of educational change processes.

The center is directed by several theoretical guidelines :

- Adopting a Humanistic perspective on ICT and education
- Critically approaching ICT and education
- Incorporating normative thinking to educational and technological practices

The center has been - and is currently - involved in numerous research and development projects in the past, both on the national and European levels.
